Franz Kafka The Metamorphosis

Write a Well-Developed paragraph in response to each topic Albert Camus’ writing was heavily influenced by Kafka. Compare The Metamorphosis to “The Myth of Sisyphus” as a whole. In addition, explain the ways in which Gregor and Sisyphus are the same and the ways in which they differ. While watching The Matrix you read Kafka’s parables “Before the Law” and “Imperial Message”, how are the ideas of those parables revealed in The Metamorphosis. Based on these writings, what does Kafka think of the human condition? According to existentialists, human beings spend their lives in a void plagued by angst and despair in a world defined by alienation and absurdity. Absurdity refers to the persistence of human beings in living out our lives, despite little evidence that what we do matters in the greater universe. Modern and contemporary Existentialists and Absurdist were and Are inspired by the works of Kafka. Analyze the existential and absurd concepts evident in The Metamorphosis.

“Kafka's Writing and our Reading” David Constantine Read and annotate the criticism. You should have several annotations per page, as ideas or concepts may make more sense, come to light, or connect to your own thinking as you read The Metamorphosis. What 5 pieces of text provided the most insight into your understanding of The Metamorphosis or helped you understand something you didn’t understand before? Go back and read the final paragraphs of both sections (Writing 19 & Reading 24); then, reflect on how you see Constantine’s ideas in The Metamorphosis.
