Missing Views Sections 10.07 and 11.03-11.05.04 of Text
Objectives Construct a missing view of an object using 2 provided views. Produce an isometric sketch from a set of orthographic projections
Missing Views Missing views are a challenge for 3D visualization skills. The general procedure for constructing the missing view involves locating identical vertices in the provided views and transferring their location onto the missing view.
Missing Views – Draw the missing top view Step 1: Project vertices. Step 2: Measure distances from Right Side View. Step 3: Locate and connect corresponding vertices. Step 4: Add hidden and center lines. 8 4 8 4 CLICK
Missing Views To construct a pictorial drawing from orthographic projections it is convenient to use “reverse” edge or point tracking. Step 1: Locate an anchor vertex or edge Step 2: Successively locate adjacent vertices or edges Step 3: Add internal features
Missing Views – Sketch the missing isometric Step 1: Choose an anchor surface. Step 2: Find and sketch in adjacent surfaces Anchor Anchor Anchor Anchor CLICK
Missing Lines Use this time to practice constructing missing views and pictorials from orthographic projections. In class assignment
