03/12/2018 Introduction Action against Hunger was founded in 1979 by a group in response to the emergency in Afghanistan. The founders included several famous French intellectuals; Françoise Giroud, Bernard Henri Lévy, Marek Halter, Alfred Kastler (a Nobel Laureate in physics), Guy Sorman, Jacques Attali, and several other doctors, journalists and writers. The organisation was dedicated exclusively to ending hunger Today it is considered as one of the leading world organisations in its field Action Against Hunger is an N.G.O. 03/12/2018 Awareness of the need Now in 2010 millions of people still suffer from hunger, one African out of three dies every day. Even worse, hunger kills a person every 4 seconds. These situations are caused by: epidemics, wars, tsunamis, earthquakes like Haiti or poverty … Action Against Hunger enables us to become aware of worldwide problems and make a big step forward. 03/12/2018 4 4

Sponsors Sponsors are people who support you along the way 03/12/2018 Sponsors Sponsors are people who support you along the way Sponsors can be : close family, friends, neighbours, teachers, shops or even sport clubs. Whoever you can think of… They can donate 1, 2, 3, 5 Euros up to whatever they want per kilometre achieved. All they have to do is to fill in a donation form that we will supply.
