Service Hours 2 general hours Participation in any English competition=exemption from one quarter of service hours (Poetry Out Loud only counts past the classroom stage) Service Hours can only be granted after attending a cultural event if this is an ACTUAL CULTURAL EVENT, write 500 word max essay Other service ideas: ushering at events (Maryland Hall), volunteering at any public library, volunteering to help English teachers in their classrooms, book drives, tutoring, etc. Service hour sheets are on our website broadnecknehs.weebly.com

Dues- $15 Sarah is our Treasurer- give dues to her You can also bring the dues to Mrs. Davis (put in NEHS folder) or Mrs. Stewart Yearly Treasurer’s email (just in case): sdwinston@Verizon.net

General Meetings Due to conflicting schedules with senior who have partial schedules, jobs, etc. general meetings will be rescheduled to afterschool on Wednesdays For 2017-2018: Will be meeting during Mrs. Stewart’s room (D220) during Maroon block on Thursdays.

Demerit System Probation after two unexcused absences Dismissal after three of any type of absence (excused or unexcused) Allow up to 7 demerits before being dismissed 1 demerit for every day service hours are late (only allow up to 3 days to turn form in)
