Types of Instructional Methods Indirect Instruction Learner-Centered Approaches Cooperative Learning Collaborative Learning Problem Based Learning Case Studies

Cooperative Learning Small groups of students Active participation Promotes: Individual accountability Students' ability to work cooperatively Improvement of social skills.

Collaborative Learning Students process information and derive knowledge through discussing course-related issues and topics with each other.

Problem Based Learning Students are given a problem they need to solve Steps: 1) student gathers data 2) student organizes data and attempts an explanation to the problem 3) students analyze the strategies they used to solve the problem.
