How to Run an Effective Staff Meeting With Nanette Pututau Former Lighthouse Health Manager

Meetings Meetings held in your office can either be a HUGE waste of time or VERY effective. If you think it’s a waste of time then you aren’t conducting the meeting correctly. We are going to talk about the effective ways to run a meeting and the importance of having daily and weekly meetings.

What Meetings Do We Need to Have???

Daily Huddle

Start The Day Off Right!

Staff Meeting

Stay Positive! As the manager/owner it can be overwhelming at times with the work load you have. It is VERY important to remember to focus on your staff and others during this meeting. Talk everyone up, motivate them, inspire them, and remind them what amazing things you do in your office! Show inspirational videos, testimonials and share personal experiences to keep your staff loving their job and your patients. If you need to talk about issues or problems that are going on in your office, staff meeting is the time and place but remember to never end with what your staff isn’t doing well or negative things.

Product of the Week

Nice notes Having a box to write nice notes to each staff creates a sense of team work and unity. Everyone likes to hear nice things said about them and it helps your office moral! Get any kind of box you want to put your notes in and cut up a bunch of pieces of paper or have sticky notes so that your staff can write nice notes on them. Encourage your staff to write nice things about each other but make sure as the manager that you ALWAYS write something nice about everyone! Even if you don’t think they did anything worth writing.

Importance of Training

Marketing

Seminar Assistant

Sales

Improve Your Sales! Dr. Singleton suggests listening to this or reading it every day for at least 5 min! In 1 week Dr. Singleton sold $32,000 in Neuropathy programs! His staff asked him what he was doing different. He had to think about it and realized it was by listening to this book on audio everyday to and from work. You can download it on I-Tunes under Audio Books. Remember in these meetings to really focus on making sure whoever is selling the programs, which is usually the Doctor, has the right headspace. The Doctor/Sales person can either make or break the practice with their headspace.

Front Desk

Therapy This can be incorporated during Weekly Staff Meeting

Accountability Coach/Patient Coordination

Management

Cater Meetings To You Some of you might only have 1 staff. Some of your employees will be the Manager, Seminar Assistant, Front Desk and Marketer. Some of you might not have any staff. Some of you might have a lot of staff for each position. Whatever you have, you work with! Combine meetings, change the agenda and do what fits best in your office. Remember to still have meetings and keep track of your stats and metrics so you can improve and grow your practice.

All Position Checklist, Description and Metrics.
