Simply Cook & Enjoy March 2014
Health Info prepared by Public Health Vitalité Health Network March 2014
Make Cooking a Family Affair! Cook on weekends, when you have more time to chat, try new recipes and learn skills. Choose together healthy recipes that inspire you. Do grocery as a family. Share tasks, such as: – Wash and prepare ingredients; – Cut up ingredients; – Wash the dishes.
Bring fun to the kitchen! Organize a family cooking challenge. Choose a cookbook, food magazine or website. Each family member picks one recipe to try. Each person makes his or her recipe for the family. Ask help from an adult when needed. When all dishes have been tasted, rate the recipes. You might discover a new family favorite!
Think outside of the box… Add slices of banana to your peanut butter sandwich. Add raw shredded carrots or diced zucchini to a spaghetti sauce. Add pureed pumpkin to a pancake or muffin batter.
