Chapter 2.1 Use the Properties MATRIX GRANT PROJECT Isaiah C. Oscar P. 607
Definition Commutative Property- The property that states ,the if the order of addends or factors is changed, the sum or product stays the same. Associative Property- The property that states that the way addends are grouped or factors are grouped does not changed the sum or the product. Distributive Property- The property that states that multiplying a sum by a number is the same as multiplying each addend by the number and then adding the products
Example Commutative 3+8=8+3 Associative (9+10)+12=10(9+12) Distributive 13*42=13*(40+2)=(12*30)+(12*2)
Problems 1) (6*24)+(6*6) 2) (2*11)+(5*11) 3) (12*6)+(6*8) 4) (12+23)+10 5) (6+37)+132
http://www.aaaknow.com/pro74bx2.htm You have to use all the properties. There are four properties you need, they are commutative, associative, multiplication, and distributive.
