A Look At “Learn” To learn implies teaching. The state of learning and lack of learning are both recognized. Learning is required. Learning is possible. God has provided the means for learning. See slide number three for the scriptures for each of the facts presented in this slide.

A Look At “Learn” “33: Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end” (Ps. 119). “14: And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another” (Rom. 15). “16: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction” (2 Pet. 3). “10: That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Col. 1). “4: Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ” (Eph. 3).

It is not enough to just memorize scripture or read it, we are to learn the meaning. Learning in this sense involves imbibing with our understanding and heart; it implies practical and full application.

A Look At “Learn” All may learn. It is God’s design and desire that the assembly be used for education. In general, all of God’s people are to learn.

To show piety at home means to address the physical needs of those within our households and those such as parents and grandparents. What a sweeping change this would make (if all did it) regarding the financial draw involving America (relief programs, etc.) and also institutional churches of Christ (churches that support homes for the aged, etc.).

A Look At “Learn” “8: Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9: And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him” (Heb. 5) Many in America and even in the church today are defiant. Suffering is needed to produce a contrite spirit of obedience.
