Flow of Tutorial Turn in TRF for check/grade Get into Tutorial Groups (sometimes little activity) Read Problems of Concern  pick 1 Presenter and group members setup 3 column notes 30 sec speech – address problem (see next page) Start working through process until hits answers or real area of concern to bring to content teacher

Our Goal for Tutorials for 2 weeks…. Remind ourselves of the process Writing POC clearly on board Practice 30 sec Speeches Practice presenting talking through thoughts AND writing on board…not easy Asking good inquiry questions Taking good notes Have Fun Supporting each other

Might need to put notes on board 30 second Speech Articulate your question “My question is….” Share what you know Academic vocab “What I know about my question is…” Share your work “I am able to complete…” Share your confusion about your question “What I don’t understand is…Where I get stuck is…” Ask your group members to begin the inquiry process “What questions do you have to assist me?” Might need to put notes on board

Group Members during 30 sec speech Prepare to take notes and get out related resources (e.g., notes, textbook, handouts). Listen to the student presenter’s specific question and assess their own knowledge on the topic or problem. Record the student presenter’s specific question and all of the work from this point forward. Begin to consider questions to aid the student presenter and deepen the group’s understanding.
