What we do: United Way of Tucson currently serves about 27 child care centers and 28 afterschool programs throughout the greater Tucson area. Our participants ages range from 2-17 years of age; majority are Hispanic and White populations 3 Educators provide direct service to each of the sites once a month, year round.

Preschools and Child Care Centers Focus on integrating literacy into our nutrition activities (Michigan Team Nutrition Preschool Booklist) Provide handouts/recipes on the lesson topic for that month Taste Tests with our food demonstrations and give centers the results and recipe for them to incorporate it into their snacks/lunch menus
