What’s on for today and why? Today we are going to be reading the children’s version of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night so that you can become familiar with the storyline and get comfortable acting out the play as a class.

I am looking for volunteers to play the following characters: Character List I am looking for volunteers to play the following characters: Viola, a young woman-Reese Sebastian, Viola’s twin brother-Levi Orsino, Duke of Illyria- Oliver Olivia, a countess - Sivanah Malvolio, Olivia’s servant - Klay Feste, a jester, -Christopher Sir Toby, Olivia’s uncle - Griffin Soldier 1 - Michael Soldier 2 - Jasmeet Captain; Antonia - Riley Maria, Olivia’s maid- Cassandra Sir Andrew, Sir Toby’s friend - Holden Some characters have a lot of lines so we are splitting things up

Setup Please push the desks to the sides of the room. Bring your chair into the centre of the room to form a big circle.

Instructions As I read through the children’s version of the play text, listen to when your character is part of the scene and enter the stage (centre of the circle). In role as your character, use your body and facial expressions according to the storyline. Be dramatic!!!

Instructions (Casselman) I need two volunteers with clear voices to read the story As the story is read listen to when your character is part of the scene and enter the stage (centre of the circle). In role as your character, use your body and facial expressions according to the storyline. Be dramatic! It’s more funny for me that way
