2016 Science Olympiad Team

Coach: Mr. James Arra Pritika Aidasani; Amanda Desire, Elianna Read; Valentina Olaya – Florez; Karina Lin; Madison Pena; Sofia Dianellos; William Pico; Roxanna Read; Carlos Urena; Kaitlyn Mendoza; Missing: Robert Grochowski; Ethan Briganti, Evenunye Afeto; Mohine Moline

Event: Scrambler Students had to design, build, and test on mechanical device which uses the energy from a falling mass to transport and egg along a track as quickly as possible and stop as close to the center of a Terminal Barrier without breaking the egg.

Event: Bridge Building The students had to design and build a Bridge meeting specific requirements to achieve the highest structural efficiency while being tested at an angle.

Event: Elastic Launched Glider Students had to design, construct, and test elastic – launched gliders to achieve the maximum time aloft.

Event: Anatomy & Physiology 5th Place Students had to study and prepare for a written examine using their knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body systems: Integumentary; Skeletal; and Muscular.

Event: Disease Detectives 4th Place ~ Sofia Dianellos and Carlos Urena Students had to use investigative skills in the scientific study of disease, injury, health, and disability in populations or groups of people with a focus on Population Growth.

Event: Elastic Launched Glider 4th Place ~ Madison Pena & Kaitlyn Mendoza Students had to design, construct, and test elastic – launched gliders to achieve the maximum time aloft.
