Presentation transcript:

The Proper Form of Field Goal Kicking Linda Kabat, Loreta Lappo, and Danny Colapietro

Step 1: Holding of the Ball Measure the wind. Frontal or head wind: front lean. Rear wind: tilted towards the holder. The laces should be pointed away from you.

Step 2: Taking Your Steps Take 3 steps back from the holder. Eyes on your target. Look down at your feet and take 2 steps to the opposite side, depending on if you’re a right footed or left footed.

Laces out!!!

Step 3: The Approach Again, focus on your target and once ready, give your holder the “ok.” Once the ball is snapped, start your approach. Jab step, front step, plant step, swing, and kick!

Step 4: Follow Through Upon striking the ball, lock your ankle and strike with the top of your foot. Eyes and head down and hop on your planted foot. Once your kicking foot hits the ground, lift your head and watch the ball.
