Presented by Annie Jones, TRiO Manage Your Time Well Presented by Annie Jones, TRiO

Don’t Overextend Yourself Be realistic in expectations of yourself If it seems like too much, it probably is Make changes as necessary to make your life more manageable

Being organized… saves time in the long-run takes the guess work out of what you have to accomplish requires a day planner or calendar to keep track of deadlines & assignments

Schedule Blocks of Time for Studying Not too much, not too little Focus, focus, focus Schedule study blocks like a standing appointment that you must keep

Make Efficient Use of Your Time How would you like to use your time for school, home, work, leisure? Prioritize and schedule - use that planner or calendar Be efficient with your time Combine tasks -> laundry + reading Don’t waste “chunks of time”

Learn To Say “No” You are human and you have limits Too much on your plate can distract you from academics Honoring your own limits is not selfish or rude

Make “To Do” Lists and Prioritize Free up your head space -- get it all down on paper Re-order the list by priority Cross off things you’ve done -- it’s VERY rewarding to see that you’re making progress!

Remember, we’re here to support you… Meet with or talk to your TRiO counselor at least once each month during the semester Talk to one of us before you’re overwhelmed Academics Personal life
