Business as usual “The death of our civilization is no longer a theory or an academic possibility; it is the road we’re on,” - Peter Goldmark By Camilo Vanegas

Problems? Government Business Public perception Fix economy and fix the world Business Capital growth and change Public perception Can we make a difference?

Broken leadership = Broken future Government needs to do its part Taxes on those that refuse to save the planet Benefits for those that do there part in helping our ONLY planet!! “a tax on coal that incorporates the increased health care costs associated with mining it and breathing the air it pollutes, the costs of damage from acid rain, and the costs of climate disruption would encourage investment in clean renewable sources…”

Taxes “a 10-percent price rise typically reduces smoking by 4 percent, the health benefits of tax increases are substantial” This taxation can be applied to a variety of known global polluters Make going green cheaper and more efficient

$$$$ Greed Why change? Why change the billion dollar petroleum industry. There is even more money to be made with green jobs “a tax on coal that incorporates the increased health care costs associated with mining it and breathing the air it pollutes, the costs of damage from acid rain, and the costs of climate disruption would encourage investment in clean renewable sources”

Economy reduced annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 20 million tons helped to create approximately 250,000 additional jobs. 2006 there were 82,100 jobs in the wind industry alone, a number that is projected to rise by another 60,000 jobs by 2010.

List of top 10 future green jobs Farmer Forester Solar Power Installer Energy Efficiency Builder Wind Turbine Fabricator $$$$$ Conservation Biologist Recycler Sustainability Systems Developer Urban Planner Entrepreneur

One person can make a difference Many people say to themselves that “I” cant change the world There right But changing this view can infact change the world This isn't just a pep talk its real

Indifference Many people are still indifferent They could care less whether they recycle, reuse or reduce. This is the target audience!!!

FACTS #1. Rank of the United States as a global warming polluter compared to other large nations. # 6 Number of former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency leaders who say the U.S. is not doing enough to fight global warming. #0 Number of bills passed by Congress to cut global warming pollution.

What can we do? Talk to leaders but not just boring letters!!! Go talk to them Spread the word to change social indifference Update our understanding of global changes and share information collectively in order to actually have an impact on an audience
