Motivation Interconnecting CJK NGN Testbeds and building common NGN technology testing infrastructure Feasibility testing prior to NGN commercial deployment Reflection of testing results into corresponding standardization activities periodically Interoperability testing for Standard-based NGN components developed by CJK Cooperation with other international NGN related testbeds and their activities such as MOONv6, Plugtests, GMI, etc.

Testbed Operation Milestone Phase I (2005~2006. 1st Quarter) Organize an ad-hoc group to collaborate CJK testbed establishment Construct CJK NGN testbed Establish each administration’s NOC and common operation and management infrastructure Agree on test scenarios and build test case suits including a specific milestone Cooperate with other international NGN related testbeds Perform the first set of interoperability test Phase II (2006. 2nd Quarter ~ 2007) Test NGN Release 1 services and capabilities Test focuses on the transport functionalities such as QoS, adimission control, traffic monitoring, etc. Services to be tested are interactive multimedia services and related functional components which fall into the scope of Release 1 Especially main interest is in inter-domain/inter-operator issues Phase III (2008~2010) Test NGN Release II or beyond Test includes application/service functionalities and its binding with transport functionalities Test other advanced NGN services yet to be defined Test and verify SLA, service convergence capabilities, NGN security especially from network viewpoint, charging and billing, and others

Action Plans for Phase I (2005~2006. 1st Quarter) Organize an ad-hoc group for managing CJK testbed Recommend to organize an ad-hoc group internal to each administration first before the CJK ad-hoc group is formed Define Objectives of the CJK interoperability tests Define Roadmap Define Network Architecture (Physical, Transport and Service Topologies and underlying technologies (e.g., MPLS, etc.)) of the testbed both intra- and inter-domain scope In Intra-domain case, each administration decides its own network (e.g., KOREN or APII in case of Korea) and enhance its functionalities to conform to NGN Define Implementation Agreements for inter-domain connectivity Define test scenarios and test case suits Recruit participants for equipment and services at each testbed site Construct the test bed Do interoperability test for the initial set of test cases Make a plan for cooperating with other international NGN related test events

Proposals Establishment of a new testbed among CJK to promote mutual efforts to implement, test, deploy NGN technologies Organize first CJK NGN Interoperability Event (CNI2005) during Phase I Cooperative reflection of experiences into international standard bodies Collaboration with other closely related international activities
