How do you know … A crime happened? Who did it? How they did it?

Evidence

Go back to the time & place of the crime Go back to the time & place of the crime. Then, of course, you use the evidence to figure out what happened.

What kinds of evidence can you get from history? Primary sources, of course! They come from the time period and are great evidence to show what was actually going on.

But what is the best proof that someone committed a crime or why they did it? Confession!

So how do you get a confession from history? Lots of the people are dead! But not everybody. Get interviews! What did they leave behind that we can use to show what they were thinking and saying? Quotes!
