Writer’s Warm-Up: 15 minutes Imagine your parents sit you down and tell you they want to go on a family trip. The trick is, your dad wants to go to one place (make it up) and your mom wants to go somewhere else (also, make this up). You have the ability to see multiple futures. So you have the ability to see what it would be like to go on your dad’s destination and then on your mom’s destination of choice. Map/write out your two choices. Which one would you ultimately choose? Why?

Updates Kristen Levine I am still re-reviewing book club book review grades. Tonight will be the last night before the final draft is due. Final draft: In-class lab time will be typed in Biblionasium on 02/25 Rest of class: Vocabulary Set 5 words Set 3 Check-Ins Reflection (if there is time) Whatever we don’t get done today will be picked back up on Wednesday. 

Please use your time wisely. Do not talk, and waste time. Reflection: 5-7 minutes You will complete a reflection on this quarter’s book club on a separate piece of paper and turn it in. Homework: Be prepared to type your final draft of your Book Club Book Review next class!  We will be doing it together on Biblionasium. Do not do it on your own yet!

citrus noun: 1. A fruit of the family that includes oranges, lemons, grapefruits, and limes. 2. A tree that produces these fruits. adjective: of or relating to these fruits or trees.

disrupt verb: 1. to break up the orderly course of. 2. to interrupt; to bring to a temporary halt. adjective: disruptive: causing confusion or disorder. noun: disruption: A disturbance that interrupts or causes confusion. I’m gonna let you finish, but first….

hovel noun: an unpleasant, cramped, and dilapidated place to live.

illiterate adjective: unable to read or write. noun: illiteracy: inability to read or write.

indifferent adjective: 1. Not concerned about; not caring. 2. Neither very good nor very bad; passable.

menial adjective: of or relating to low-level, humble work.

permanent adjective: lasting or expected to last for a long time.

respite noun: a period of rest; a pause
