A Challenge to Each Christian… This lesson’s purpose: To encourage all Christians to reach out to others with the gospel. All of us need a “gentle push” in this area. We want to reach out but are hesitant. Underlying the common effort is the need for individual Christians to be motivated by an evangelistic outlook in DAILY life.

Following Jesus: Who Came to Seek & Save the Lost Reaching out to Others

Jesus’ mission, purpose, and direction in reaching others… To seek & save the lost (Lk. 19:1-10; 1 Tim. 1:15) To teach the kingdom of God (Mt. 13; Cf. 6:10) To give spiritual life (Jn. 10:7-18) To bear witness of the truth (Jn. 18:28-38) To fulfill the purpose of the Father (Jn. 4:34; 17:4)

Jesus’ love & care for each individual… He did care about people’s physical needs (Jn. 9:1-11; Cf. Mt. 9:36) Others’ spiritual needs always took precedence over the physical (Jn. 4:1-10; Mt. 19:16-22; 23:37-39)

Jesus’ willingness to give Himself for the good of others… To minister to others (Mt. 20:20-28) He “became poor” (2 Cor. 8:9) He had no personal property or prestige (Lk. 9:57-58) He was always concerned with the needs of others before His own (Lk. 22:39-46)
