As their operations expanded, so did their operational costs. While they had the potential contracts, hiring new staff presented a major challenge. Cash flow was a constant struggle, and meeting their monthly commitments meant that hiring new desperately needed administrative staff and security guards was not possible. ANNUAL SAVINGS THE OUTCOME Lulaway succeeded in securing funding for M-Sec Solutions to host interns in 2015. Over a course of 2 years, the company hosted over 80 interns and could provide security solutions to a larger number of clients. The owners reported that the average savings amounted to R240 000 annually.   These savings allowed the company to hire new staff which it otherwise would not have been able to employ, as well as to hire an office manager to help ensure smooth operation of the business. These internships made a significant difference to the business' cash flow as well as its profitability. The company growth was made possible due to the funding it received and now that it has expanded, it is able to offer many more youths with job opportunities that did not exist before and may never have existed had the business not been able to overcome its initial ‘growing pains’ 2015 2016
