Grade 1 Winter Project All about me…

Dear kids, You will be making a very special book about yourself this winter vacation!! You can start to make your book by writing on the 8 pages you got from your teacher. After you finish the writing, you can go get some construction paper to help you make your front and back cover. Just follow these 12 simple steps and you will finish in no time! Let’s get started now!!!

Step 1 On page 1, write your basic information. (name, age and family members. ) Draw a picture of yourself. Color it nicely.

Step 2 On page 2, write down your age. (Remember to spell the number!!! ) Draw and color. Write the sentence on the lines below.

Step 3 On page 3, fill in the missing numbers in the boxes. Write down your own telephone number. Write the sentence on the lines below. 4. Practice saying the numbers out loud.

Step 4 On page 4, draw a “family portrait” of your family. Draw and color everyone in your family. Write the sentence on the lines below.

Step 5 1. On page 5, write down your favorite color. 2. Draw a nice picture using your favorite color! 3. Write the sentence below on the lines.

Step 6 On page 6, fill in your favorite toy on the blank. 2. Draw a picture and color it. Write the sentence below on the line. (You should only pick one toy as your favorite.)

Step 7 1. On page 7, please fill in your favorite animal. 2. Draw a beautiful picture and color it. 3. Write the sentence on the bottom.

Page 8 On page 8, fill in your favorite food. Draw a nice picture and color it. Write the sentence.

The Blank page (optional) You only have to do this page only if you want to. You may draw a picture about anything you like. Then write a sentence about it on the lines below. If you want to write more pages, you can also make more copies.

Wow! Look what you have accomplished!!!

Step 9 Take a piece of B5 size construction paper (or fold an B4 size into half) and use it as your front cover. You can decorate it they way you like. Remember to put down your 1. Book title. 2. Name of author 3. Name of the illustrator

Step 10 Take another piece of A4 construction paper and use it as the back cover. The order of the paper should be front cover  page 1  page 2  page 3  page 4  page 5  page 6  page 7  page 8  (extra pages)  back cover. Almost done!!! 

Step 11 Now that the pages are in order. It’s time to put them together. You can staple them or find creative ways to put them together.

Step 12 Yay!!! You’re all done! All you have to do now is wait to hand it in!
