Chris Meinhardt, Employer Outreach Wednesday, August 8th, 2018

Chris Meinhardt Christopher Meinhardt is the Employer Outreach Specialist at Veterans Florida. Chris works with employers across the State of Florida providing education on the value of veterans in the workforce and veteran hiring and retention techniques. Through the Veterans Florida Workforce Training Grant Program, he connects employers with veteran candidates and grant funds to cover training costs. Chris has 10 years of experience in business development and operations holding leadership roles in a variety of companies and industries. Chris is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps completing combat deployments to Iraq and Yemen and continues to serve through active participation in different veteran organizations and initiatives.

Veterans Florida: Who we are Veterans Florida is a non-profit corporation created by the State of Florida in 2014 to help veterans transition to civilian life. Veterans Florida provides tools for veterans to take advantage of the benefits of living and working in the Sunshine State.

Entrepreneurship Program The Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program is made up of multiple components: Self-paced Online Module Frequent, single topic workshops (in-person) Long-term, cohort based advanced training (9-10 weeks) Delivered through six Network Partners across Florida

Workforce Training Grant Program Reimbursement for 50% of qualified training costs up to $8000 per veteran trained. Qualified training costs include both new veteran hires and current veteran employees Recruitment assistance, access to pre-qualified veteran candidates Simple application process for businesses. Veterans Florida: Career Services Veterans register for career services, submit resume, and view job openings at veteransflorida.org/careers Veteran Qualifying Every veteran contacted to determine their unique employment needs, interests, and skills Job Matching Veterans paired to open positions with approved employers based on skills and interest Hiring Process Work with veterans and employers through hiring process to improve outcomes for veterans The Career Services Team provides: Resume writing assistance Interview preparation Advocate to employers for veterans Facilitate feedback from employers
