A Peek At What We Are Learning Growth, Goals, Challenge Mrs. Ryan’s Classroom News September 8, 2017 What’s Happening At Spencer Loomis A Note From Mrs. Ryan 9/19- Picture Day 9/28- Early Release Day 9/29- No School (Institute day) We are off to a great start to our school year! I am enjoying getting to know all of the children and families this month. A Peek At What We Are Learning Reading We are learning the routines and expectations for our Reading Workshop this month. We have been exploring Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry to learn what readers do when they encounter different types of books. Writing We are developing handwriting habits to help us write legibly as we begin to communicate our ideas through complete sentences. Math We are reviewing counting strategies and practicing subitizing this month. We have also learned to locate numbers and their relative positions on a number track. Social Studies We are learning about how we can be good members of our classroom and school community. We are practicing ways to be responsible, respectful, and safe.
