Why are BRANDED clothes more expensive thAN NON-BRANDED clothes! By Elsa Micallef

I have narrowed down to why are Nike clothing or shoes more expensive than Primark clothing or shoes?

Why? I chose this question because I find it weird that there could be two grey jumpers one of them is NIKE so why do we pay so much for the Nike one. Well listening to this power point will hopefully give you the answer!!!

What is Nike??? Nike is a logo. It does not make clothes or shoes it is just a logo. Lets say you work at Nike and you go to a shoe shop and ask the man for 300 pairs of plain black shoes that are 5.00 euro a pair then Nike puts on their logo and sells them for about 50.00 euro!!!

CHART I asked everyone in my class would they prefer to work in Nike or Primark 18 out of 26 of them would want to work at Nike and only 8 out of 26 would want to work in Primark but I found out that a sales assistant would get paid in Nike 10-11 euro and in Primark 11.89 euro after 1 hours .

Experiment I have done an experiment to see if Nike clothing is better quality than Primark so I got a rock and scraped the Nike and Primark tops to see which top rips faster.

Experiment !!! Penney's Nike When I rubbed the top with a stone it took 19 scrapes until it ripped When i rubbed the top with a stone it took 19 scrapes until it ripped

Fun Facts The largest Primark store is in Manchester. Nikes biggest factory is in Memphis North America (in 2014 Memphis was ranked as one of the poorest cities in the nation). The largest Primark store is in Manchester. It is said that £1 in every £ 10 is spent on Primark clothes in the UK. Primark is worth $19 billion. Nike headquarters is in Beaverton , Oregan.

Conclusion So in conclusion branded and non- branded clothes are the exact same just with different prices.
