Following Instructions Requires: Listening for the main point/topic - What are the instructions about? Listening for specific details. - What are the steps?

Following Instructions Requires: (EXAMPLE) Listening for the main point/topic HOW TO MAKE ICE WATER Listening for specific details. Step 1 = get a glass. Step 2 = put ice in the glass. Step 3 = pour water into the glass.
