CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS Follow the 3Ps Prepared Be On Time Have Materials Ready (E.G., Binder, Pencil) Be Ready To Learn Polite Be An Active Listener Follow Classroom Rules Be Kind Performing Stay Involved And Engaged Try Your Best, Never Give Up Be On Task

GRADING Assessment => 80% Practice => 20% To ensure consistency, the 8th Grade Social Studies teachers use the same tests Practice => 20% At least 2 grades will be given each week

TEXTBOOK In 8th Grade Social Studies, we use the McDougal Littell American History textbook As needed, students are able to check out a textbook to use at home  

IF MY STUDENT IS ABSENT It is your student’s responsibility to find out what he/she missed and turn in the work on the appropriate day Daily activities and quizzes/test are listed on the class website calendar Assignments/activity sheets are also located in the assignment box in the back of the classroom  

TEST RETAKES If your student has no missing assignments, he or she may take a new quiz/test to earn half the points back that he or she missed on the original quiz/test Your student must take the new quiz/test no later than 1 week after the original quiz/test was taken
