Generate Your Business Idea (GYB) training package

Session objective At the end of the session participants are able to describe the objective, target group and components of the GYB training package develop a strategy to market the GYB package

What is GYB ? GYB is a business idea generation package for potential MSMEs GYB provides knowledge and skills to identify ideas business ideas and to select the most appropriate business idea GYB enables potential entrepreneurs to find out whether they are right persons to start an own business.

Program history Developed in 1998, by ILO-SIYB Southern and Eastern Africa project to further complement the SYB training package and to assist potential small-scale entrepreneur to generate feasible business ideas.

Program Objectives The objective of the GYB training intervention is to enable potential entrepreneurs to generate and analyze business ideas and to select a business idea that can be subsequently developed into a business plan during SYB training.   GYB training is very closely linked to SYB training. The GYB training intervention should not be considered a stand-alone exercise because without follow-up SYB training, the GYB training effort is likely to be futile.
