Unit Two: Emerging Adulthood Group Presentations

Why – in Canada – has there been an increased trend towards emerging adults? Gather information from the sources provided (Stats Canada article + textbook pages 73-88). Choose a theoretical perspective from which to address the question. Each group needs to pick a different one! Consider additional information (historical context; social context; personal responses – the textbook work/video/research study we have discussed) to help build your response. Create an engaging, informative, carefully supported presentation to share your findings with the class. Cite all information according to APA standards, and ensure that you include a References page. Presentations are on Monday, October 2nd, and should last approx. 15 minutes.

Suggested Task for Today Work with your group to discuss what you read yesterday. Determine the theoretical perspective from which you would like to analyze the information. Decide on a hypothesis for your presentation – ie, your answer to the question. Streamline your research – focus more closely on selecting information that explains, supports, and justifies your hypothesis. Discuss how you will organize your information – ie., the order in which you will present all of your ideas. Assign roles to members of the group, ensuring an equal distribution of the workload.
