What is TAPES ? Multidimensional assessment designed to facilitate examination of the psychosocial process related to - Adjustment to a prosthetic Specific demands of wearing a prosthetic Potential sources of maladjustment Measures both the physical and psychosocial aspects of adjustment

Format Questionnaire Confidential Completed by the patient if patient requires assistance, the answers must be the patients perception. Available to download – no cost

Use, Interpretation and Application Self report, 54 items, 15 minutes. Use all or select specific sub sections Scoring - High scores Psychosocial adjustment and Satisfaction with prosthesis are positive Activity restriction are negative Reassessment demonstrates changes which can assist with: Informal goal setting Appropriate referral Discharge

Scoring Overall scoring is not recommended 9 subscales from Part 1 Positive and negative loading Developing norms for the TAPES At present score are compared against the group average and/or over time.
