Growth Mindset at Moor Allerton Hall Primary School.

Strategies The way we praise Puppets Recognising difficulty Celebration

The way we praise… Effort praise Intelligence praise: You are so clever Wow! You must have worked really hard! You are such a good artist! I can see you have been practising your drawing. What an improvement. See… I told you it would be easy! That was a challenge but you persevered, well done!

What do we want to encourage? Managing distractions resilience Reflection enquiry independence

Recognising difficulty… and trying anyway! This is tricky - that means I must be learning! If I make a mistake, I can try again. I could ask Mr. Burton to explain it to me so that I can do it. I can’t do it.

Recognising difficulty… and trying anyway! I’ll never be able to do this. If I keep trying. I will get better at this. I will be happy when I learn to do this. Even if I make a little improvement that is a big achievement for me.

Recognising difficulty… and trying anyway! My friend is a million times better than me If I keep trying, I will get better at this. I will be happy when I learn to do this. Even if I make a little improvement, that is a big achievement for me.

Recognising difficulty… Where are you in the learning pit?
