7th Grade Literature Mrs. Garrett 2016-2017 Wordly Wise Vocabulary * 15 Vocabulary words per week * Online access at www.wordlywise3000.com * Test on Friday – Major Grade * Homework activity every night. – Daily grades * Vocabulary squares for extra credit each week * Students can retest one test per six weeks for a grade made below a 70. Contact Information: garrettt@needvilleisd.com 979-793-4250 5th Period Conference 12:50 – 1:40 Teacher Webpage: Access my webpage and subscribe to my webpage for weekly classroom updates. 7th Grade Literature Mrs. Garrett Supplies Needed: $1 for composition book & folder Glue Scissors Markers Pens Pencils (I will provide students with a folder & composition book) Interactive Notebook: Each student will be expected to keep an interactive notebook in the classroom. This notebook will include notes/information provided by the teacher, as well as their responses to the information. 2016-2017 Accelerated Reader *Students will be required to read one AR book per six weeks on their level for a major grade. The AR test must be taken in my classroom while I am present. Students will not receive credit for AR test taken outside my class. *Due Dates: 1st six weeks: 9/28/16 2nd six weeks: 11/2/16 3rd six weeks: 12/14/16 4th six weeks: 2/15/17 5th six weeks: 4/5/17 5th six weeks: none due to library closure

Classroom Rules: Tardy Policy: Give 100%. All Day. Every Day Respect your environment, your peers, and your teacher. Come to class prepared with all materials. Follow all rules as outlined in the handbook. Tardy Policy: Warning After School Detention Office Referral *Any thereafter will each result in an office referral. Tardy count starts over at the beginning of the 2nd semester. Homework Misses: Students will be assigned lunch detention any time a daily grade homework assignment is incomplete. Discipline Policy: Verbal Warning Parent Contact After school detention Office referral *I reserve the right, depending on the degree of infraction, to move directly to consequence #4. Rewards Tickets will be handed out to students for good behavior, respecting peers, and good quality work. Each ticket is worth 2 points extra credit on any assignment. Accelerated Reader Each six weeks, one AR book with a minimum of 3 points must be read and tested on for a major grade. Failure to complete this will result in a ZERO and an office referral.
