Cooks follow a recipe for implementing a research based reading/writing curriculum for students with disabilities in their district or school.

Garden Patch Soup 1 pound lean ground beef (natural or organic beef if affordable) 2 quarts water 1 onion, chopped 2 1/2 tablespoons Au jus seasoning mix 2 1/2 tablespoons taco seasoning mix 2 1/4 teaspoons chili powder 14 ounce can of tomatoes, chopped 7 ounce can tomato sauce 8 ounces whole kernel corn 8 ounce can kidney beans, drained and rinsed 3 cups of veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, zucchini, peppers, celery or whatever you like) 1/3 head cabbage (1 1/2 cups) Instructions: In a soup pot, heat the water to boiling. While the water is heating, brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet. When water comes to a boil, add all the seasonings: tomato, tomato sauce, corn with liquid, beans and your vegetable choices. Drain meat mixture and add the meat to the soup pot. Bring back to a boil. Simmer until vegetables are crisp tender. Add the cabbage and remove the soup from the heat. Let the soup sit for a few minutes allowing the cabbage to cook. Correct the seasoning. Stir well and ladle into bowls. Feed your team some soup. Eat your veggies.

Hot Fudge Pudding Cake 2 tsp instant coffee 1 1/2 C water (or mix 1 cup of cold coffee with 1/2 C water) 2/3 C Dutch-processed cocoa 1/3 C packed brown sugar 3/4 C granulated sugar 6 Tbsp unsalted butter 3 oz bittersweet chocolate, Chopped 3/4 C AP flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 Tbsp vanilla extract 1/3 C whole milk 1/4 tsp salt 1 egg Preheat oven to 325 degrees, set oven rack to the lower middle position. Spray 8 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Whisk instant coffee into water and set aside. In a bowl, stir together 1/3 C of the cocoa powder, brown sugar, & 1/3 C of the granulated sugar. Melt butter and add chopped chocolate and stir until the mixture is smooth. Add cocoa powder & stir until smooth. Set aside to cool. In a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside. Add the remaining sugar, vanilla, milk, & egg to the chocolate mixture and mix until smooth. Add flour mixture & whisk until batter is smooth. Pour batter into prepared baking dish, spread & smooth evenly. Sprinkle the cocoa & sugar mixture that you set aside earlier evenly over the batter. Then drizzle coffee mixture all over the top of the cocoa mixture. Let them eat Pudding Cake

Bake at 350 degrees for minutes. 3 cups mashed sweet potatoes 1 stick butter 1 1/2 c. Sugar 3 eggs 1 tsp. Vanilla 1/2 tsp salt 1/2. C. Milk Coconut - 1 small can Topping: 1 stick. Butter melted 1 c. Brown sugar 1 c. Pecans 1/4 c. Plain flour

Marcia Sterners Chocolate Butter Crunch 2 Sticks Land O Lakes unsalted butter 1C Dark Brown Sugar Saltine Crackers (unsalted tops) 1 12 oz package semisweet chocolate ships Chopped nuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees Line greased cookie sheet with crackers Mix butter & brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to boil for 3 minutes, stir constantly, immediately spread over crackers. Place in oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over top, let stand a few minutes, and spread chocolate over crackers. Top with sliced almonds or other chopped nuts of choice. Let cool, then refrigerate. Break apart to serve. These keep well in freezer. Dont forget the brain food.
