Become knowledgeable about the community ito of its economic condition, political structures, norms & values, demographic trends, history and experience with engagement efforts 3. Go into the community, establish relationships, build trust, work with formal & informal leadership, seek commitment 4. Community engagement can only be sustained by identifying & mobilising community assets & by developing capacity & resources for community development 8.
