Where does a comet’s tail point ? boze

WhAT IS A COMET ? A comet is basically a "dirty snowball" of dust and sometimes rock, frozen water, and frozen gases like ammonia, methane, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. Comet Holmes

Where do comets come from? Comets are believed to have two sources. Long-period comets (those which take more than 200 years to complete an orbit around the Sun) originate from the Oort Cloud. Short-period comets (those which take less than 200 years to complete an orbit around the Sun) originate from the Kuiper Belt.

what is a comet made of? Comets are usually made primarily from ice, along with dust, rocks, and frozen gases. Essentially anything that might be found floating around in space could be found in a comet.

What is the Fate of comets? If a comet is traveling fast enough, it may leave the Solar System; such is the case for hyperbolic comets. Some comets meet a more spectacular end – either falling into the Sun or smashing into a planet or other body.

Zhao 1 A newly-discovered comet has been named after Dr Zhao Haibin, the  Chinese astronomer who discovered the  object in the constellation  Cetus in mid-September 2007.

Who is dr zhao? Dr Zhao Haibin leads an NEO (Near Earth Object) research team at the Zijinshan Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences based in the eastern city of Nanjing.   The comet, marks the fifth one discovered by the Zijinshan Astronomical Observatory.

Distance of zhao 1 from earth? Comet P/2007S1 (ZHAO) tracks just found an eccentricity of 0.344 is oval, it will be over December 10, 2007 perihelion, its orbital semi-major axis of 3.818 astronomical units, 6.0 degrees inclination orbit around day orbital period of 7.46 years. Will be repeated after found them suitable for future space exploration, the current national observatory on The newly discovered comet run and morphological changes are being further observation.

Where does a comet’s tail point ? A comet's tail points away from the sun. Sometimes the dust and gas separate, though, because they are driven by two different effects, radiation pressure and solar wind, respectively. Both point mostly away from the sun, but not always exactly.
