The benefits of Skill Cards in an Australian Rules Football training program… Allows volume practice of a core skill & autonomous development of that skill. Allows the specific skill requirement of each player to be met. Injured players are able to participate in the practice of a core skill by way of a structured skill training program. The coach does not need to be present. Allows players to utilise pre-training time more productively. SKILL CARDS – MARKING Improved Hand / eye co-ordination, touch, and body positioning. Practicing various types of marking skills, eg overhead, in hands and back with flight. Increased volume and repetition of each marking skill to complement training & playing.
