Parent Portal Please check the Parent Portal regularly for grades and student progress. Interim reports are no longer sent home because data is available throughout the marking period. Instructors often put notes in for missing assignments, low grades, or to describe direct communications with students.

Google Docs Google docs can be accessed from any computer (with internet access) by going to the Google Drive. Study guides, vocabulary and notes presentations - will be “shared” with students as Google docs. Students will also be writing essays, creating projects and utilizing this format for many different classroom assignments.

Earth Science Mrs. Jamie Hahn Science is mostly a hands-on class that incorporates experimentation and collaboration to explore their world. The students do not have a textbook, instead they make their own interactive textbook/notebook that they are able to take with them in June. They can also take these notebooks home everyday to study and complete assignments. Earth Science Mrs. Jamie Hahn

Astronomy , Geology & Meteorology The students will focus on the daily influences of science and why it’s important to understand their role in the natural world. They will learn about Earth’s place in the universe, Earth’s unique characteristics, and the changes that have occurred on earth over time. from weather and more. 3 Main Units Astronomy , Geology & Meteorology

All labs are completed during the 45 minute class period. The students are given 2-4 lab questions to reflect and analyze on the purpose and results of the lab. They are always given a minimum of TWO days for the questions. They are graded and grades are based on effort and organization of their thoughts and arguments. Edible labs are announced and donations are greatly appreciated. Please visit the “Giving Tree” outside my classroom. Labs All labs are done in class and can be made up at lunch if someone is absent.

Google Classroom Students will use their Google Classroom to access class notes, lessons and videos necessary for each chapter.

Friday Emails & Newsletter Every Friday I send out an email highlighting the topics and activities covered during the week. It is my hope that you can use the email to spark family conversations about science or connect something you have seen or experienced to what we are learning about. The first email was sent on 9/18.
