Career Requirements and Rewards

Career chosen field of work in which you try to advance over time by gaining responsibility and earning money

Career requirements responsibilities that you must perform in order to succeed in a career

Job any activity that you do in exchange for money or other payment

Occupation career or job

Requirements things you must do or have in order to succeed in a career

Responsibility Something people expect you to do, something you must accomplish

Rewards things you receive in return for fulfilling your responsibilities in your career

Wages or Salary Money received in exchange for work performed.

Activity#1 List the requirements and rewards of a career as an artist. in addition to having natural artistic ability, an artist is usually required to develop her skills in art school, taking courses in drawing, basic painting, sculpture, and art history. Artists are typically required to constantly improve and perfect their art and learn new techniques and methods. Some of rewards of being an artist include independance, creativity, and adding beauty to the world.

Activity#2 What are the requirements and rewards of a career as a firefighter. fire fighters typically undergo a series of physical and pschological exams. It also requires that you work well with others and take orders without attitude. You need to be flexible, self motivated, and courageous and must be willing to risk your life for others. Rewards include pride and satisfaction of helping others, as well as playing an important role in the community. Another reward is enjoing a certain level of job security and benefits.

Activity #3 On a sheet of paper create a table with 3 columns. In the first column name each of your classes in order of the one you enjoy the most to the class you enjoy the least. Then in corresponding columns, briefly, relate how your interests, talents, or strengths have an influence on your choices. In the third column, think of what careers someone with those interests might pursue.
