To Search For a Specific Article Use the Search feature on the main library page I searched: Emotional regulation in the workplace: A new way to conceptualize emotional labor You do not have to include the entire title. Sometimes a “:” confuses the search. You can also search just key words instead of full titles Within the search, you can narrow parameters by: Library, content (peer-reviewed and full-text), database, author, year I recommend selecting both peer-reviewed and full-text in your searches

To Search For a Specific Article Results page looks like this image I selected the 2nd option and was able to link right to the full-text pdf to download The 1st link took routed to the journal website where one would have to search again for the article

Searching Databases You may also choose to search specific keywords in the databases to try to identify relevant academic articles or book chapters for your paper. To do so, start with the Troy library website, and select “databases” or follow this link: http://trojan.troy.edu/library/databases.html We have many databases from which to choose, but the following are my recommendations (I have included the links and descriptions so you can decide which best fit your needs): ABI Inform Complete features over 4,055 journals, forming a business database package that offers more than 2,965 full-text titles covering business and economic conditions, corporate strategies, management techniques, as well as competitive and product information. Academic Search Complete contains more than 6,100 full-text periodicals, including more than 5,100 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 10,100 journals and a total of more than 10,600 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc.

Searching Databases Business Source Premier provides full text for more than 2,300 journals, including more than 1,100 peer-reviewed business publications. This database provides full text back to 1886, and searchable cited references back to 1998. Provides full text coverage in all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance and economics PsycARTICLES from the American Psychological Association (APA), is a source of full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. The database contains over 150,000 articles from nearly 80 journals published by the APA, and its imprint the Educational Publishing Foundation (EPF), and from allied organizations including the Canadian Psychology Association…

Searching Databases (cont’d) PsycBOOKS from the American Psychological Association (APA), is a database of approximately 32,000 chapters in PDF from over 2,000 books published by APA and other publishers, and includes digitized content of historical significance from the Archives of the History of American Psychology (AHAP) collection . It also contains close to 1,500 classic books of landmark historical impact in psychology dating from the 1600s, and the exclusive electronic release of more than 1,500 authored entries from APA/Oxford University Press Encyclopedia of Psychology. PsycINFO the American Psychological Association's (APA) resource for abstracts of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, is the largest resource devoted to peer-reviewed literature in behavioral science and mental health. It contains over 2.5 million citations and summaries dating as far back as the early 1800s. SAGE Premier/SAGE Journals contains over 570 full text journals in Business, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science, Technology and Medicine (STM). All journals are available in full-text .pdf format, dating from 1999 to the most current issue.

To Search a Specific Journal From library website, select “citation linker”, then select “journals” or follow this link: https://troyuniversity.on.worldcat.org/atoztitles/#journal Type in the name of the journal you want to search, and click “search” If we have access to the journal, a page will appear for you to select full text articles Example search results for Journal of Applied Psychology: Notice, this search also indicates that we could have searched the PsycARTICLES database to find a specific article from this same journal.

To Search a Specific Journal Next, click on the Journal of Applied Psychology link, and a screen like below will appear. Notice the database the library is pulling from is PsycARTICLES. From here you can “Search within this publication” for a specific article title, specific author, etc. or for keywords of interest. You may also browse articles from various years by selecting a year on the right screen and a particular issue. A list of articles from that issue will populate, and you can download the full text of any of these articles (as long as our library has a subscription)

Google Scholar https://scholar.google.com/ - database for searching for articles, chapters, etc. Note. You will probably have more luck finding free full-text articles if you are searching from a computer logged in to the Troy network. Good for copy/pasting citations in APA format (Note. They are not always correct and often need to be modified.) For example, search for: Emotional regulation in the workplace: A new way to conceptualize emotional labor. Click on “cite” and the APA format shows up as: Grandey, A. A. (2000). Emotional regulation in the workplace: A new way to conceptualize emotional labor. Journal of occupational health psychology, 5(1), 95. Correcting the format: Grandey, A. A. (2000). Emotional regulation in the workplace: A new way to conceptualize emotional labor. Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, 5, 95-110. Good for looking up articles that have cited the given article: click on “cited by”
