What does Aerodynamics mean? How an object moves through the air
Paper Airplanes! Have you ever made a paper airplane before? How did you make it? How far did it fly? How does a paper airplane compare to a real airplane?
Videos We are going to watch videos of some airplanes flying! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fdyUk5bfF8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_c_iq8lsx4 Paper Airplane Tutorials http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-XRUnnwtyE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhuRw88A-8c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bmd3iAKA0Gw
Planes What causes planes to fly? How did the planes in the videos fly? What did they use to move fast?
Paper Planes We are going to make paper airplanes and change the design to make the airplane that can fly the farthest! Make a couple different designs so we can test them!
In Your Journals… Record your design ideas and any changes you make. When you test each airplane, record how far each one flies.
Design Changes/Closure How did you decide to make changes to your airplane? How did your changes help you? How does this connect to inventing?
