The Season of Advent
Hope: God Has a Plan! Circumstances beyond Hope? John 1:4-5 In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Hope: God Has a Plan! Looking Back: Hope from the Past
Hope: God Has a Plan! Looking Back: Hope from the Past Matthew 1:17 This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham:
Hope: God Has a Plan! Looking Back: Hope from the Past Jesus = Yeshua = “The LORD Saves” Matthew 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Hope: God Has a Plan! Looking Back: Hope from the Past Christ / Messiah = “Anointed” Matthew 16:16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Hope: God Has a Plan! Looking Back: Hope from the Past Son of David = Savior, King Matthew 21:9 The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
Hope: God Has a Plan! Looking Back: Hope from the Past Son of Abraham = blessing to all Genesis 22:18 “and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed Me.”
Hope: God Has a Plan! Looking Back: Hope from the Past Galatians 3:16, 29 Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise.

Hope: God Has a Plan! Looking Ahead: Hope for the Future Son of David God remains faithful, despite our failings God is persistent in His purpose for us 2 Corinthians 12:9 - My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
Hope: God Has a Plan! Looking Ahead: Hope for the Future Jesus Christ (Messiah) God’s timing is perfect, overcoming obstacles to bring good out of any situation Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Mark 1:14-15 - Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.“The time has come…the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” Ephesians 1:9-10 - he made known to us the mystery of his will…which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
Hope: God Has a Plan! Hope beyond Circumstances Looking back: Can you see how God had a plan? Can you see how God used it for good? Can you see God’s perfect timing?
Hope: God Has a Plan! Hope beyond Circumstances Looking forward: Where do you need to apply Christ’s hope in your life? Where else do you see the need? Who needs to hear of this hope?
