ESS.VIP programme I. Background

May 2013 : 4 statistical domains November 2012 ESSC supported the launch of the ESS.VIP programme as an appropriate answer to the ESS challenges and context May 2013 : 4 statistical domains Cross domains Data Validation Policy (Validation project) Business registers (European system of Interoperable Statistical Business Registers project); International trade in goods (SIMSTAT project); Information and Communication technology usage surveys (ICT project);

June 2013 DIME/ITDG Steering Group Partnership Group Discussions on supporting and forward looking infrastructure developments required -> 2 phase approach

September 2013 Special DGINS meeting and ESSC Establishment of a Task Force on Vision 2.0 (Oct 2013 – Apr 2014) with two informal meetings of DGs; Evaluation the outcomes and lessons learned from the ESS.VIP Programme (–> Apr 2014) The recognition of the importance of delivering the basic infrastructure elements needed for the four on-going projects (-> 2015) The commitment to align the ESS.VIP programme with the forthcoming conclusions of the Task Force on Vision 2.0 and with the outcomes from the ESSnets and Sponsorship Groups (May 2014 -> ) The importance of co-ordination of the with the on-going international initiatives (–> Apr 2014)
