Death - Introduction Death – a term that, when applied to the lower orders of living things such as plants and animals means the end of life. With reference to human being, however, death is not the end of life. The Bible teaches that we are more than physical creatures; we are also spiritual beings. For man, therefore, physical death does not mean the end of existence but the end of life as we know it and the transition to another dimension in which our conscious existence continues.

Spiritual Death Because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), all people are spiritually dead – separated from God who is the source of spiritual life. Sin is the most serious problem we have here on Earth. [Self is the source of ALL Sin!!!] Everyone who has not been redeemed by Christ is spiritually dead (Luke 15:32; Ephesians 2:1 - 3; Colossians 2:13) The Bible speaks of the Second Death (Revelation 2:11). This is eternal death, the everlasting separation of the lost from God in HELL.

No Christian is as righteous as God. Romans 3: 23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Luke 15: 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. Ephesians 2: 1- 3 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air (Satan), the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Revelation 2: 11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death. No Christian is as righteous as God. Without His forgiveness, we would all be hopelessly destined for the second death (Hell)

We are surrounded by multitudes of folk blinded by Satan on their way to destruction and they do not realize it! Will You Warn them?? Matthew 7: 13 – 14 Enter through the narrow gate. Satan will use the things of this world to blind you to truth and deceive you into thinking that you have plenty of time to get right with God. He is really only interested in having you spend eternity with himself in HELL!! 90 years of life on earth is nothing compared to eternity. Do you really think that gratifying yourself for the remainder of your 90 years is worth giving up Heaven for eternity instead of spending eternity in Hell?? II Corinthians 4: 4 The god of this age (Satan) has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. Your eternal destination is determined by choices made during your 90 years on earth. You will either go to Paradise with Christ or to Hades with Satan. Paradise is like a Persian garden (Eden) but Hades is a miserable place.

For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself. And He has given Him authority to judge because He is the Son of Man. Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves (Paradise or Hades) will hear His voice and come out – those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.”

Judgments The Dead are Judged; “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it…… Revelation 20: 11 Verse 12 – And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and book(s) were opened. Another book was opened which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire (Hell) The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Please note that there is a book (of life) and there are books of deeds. The books contain detailed records of our deeds while we live on earth. The Christian passed from death to life when he choose Jesus to be the Lord of his life. Thus, his name is recorded in the Book of Life. The books of deeds for the Christian will result in rewards in Heaven and the books of deeds for the unbeliever will result in degrees of punishment in eternal Hell!
