Module Assembly The gantry U-axis has gotten an encoder error several times over the last couple days. This requires restarting the assembly of the plate. Usually using recover mode. We reconnected all the cables and reseated the U-axis amplifier card. In the past, one of these cards went bad with similar symptoms. On the last plate assembled on Friday, the U-motor went into oscillation and emergency stopped. This resulted in the chipping of the corner of a TEC R7 sensor. This failure of the U-motor has happened 2 or 3 times in the last year. It may or may not be related to the encoder error problem. FNAl is sending a spare amplifier card they have for the gantry U axis. We will install this today and do some test runs. Week of 11/28 – 12/2/2005
