Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program (LECSP) I. September: HCCF Scholarship Committee determines criteria. HCCF Scholarship Officer submits application to participate in LECSP to ICI (Independent Colleges of Indiana) June: ICI approves participation and student application Application Link is provided to the four county school guidance departments in August. School Guidance distributes link to top 15% of class (based on 6th semester) Students submit online applications by September 9, 2016. All applicants are reviewed blindly by outside readers. Outside readers nominate two candidates from each school as Finalists. Top 8 Finalist are submitted to HCCF by outside readers on October 5, 2016. HCCF Scholarship committee members review applications prior to personal interviews on October 18, 2016. HCCF Scholarship committee conducts personal interviews with each of the 8 finalists, using a weighted score process. The committee will identify two recipients and an alternate. HCCF Scholarship Officer submits recommendations to ICI for approval. HCCF staff and Scholarship committee will attend each school board meeting to recognize the 8 finalists at their respective high schools prior to the announcement of the recipients. Once approval of recipients is received, HCCF notifies finalists via personal phone calls to non-recipients then the two recipients will be notified with a personal phone call by December 12, 2016. A reception will take place to honor graduating Lilly Scholars and celebrate the 2016 recipients.
