Adjectives versus Adverbs Miss Johnson

Good Versus Well Good is an adjective Have a good day. She is a good bowler. Well is an adverb Do well today, students. She bowls well.

Good Versus Well Practice Circle the correct word in the following sentences and identify which word well/good is modifying. Then, diagram all three sentences. I did (well, good) on my driver’s test yesterday. We slept (well, good) in the tent. Mr. Davis can play the guitar (well, good). Write a sentence using the word “well”. Write a sentence using the word “good”.

Bad Versus Badly Bad is an adjective I feel bad about forgetting your birthday. The sour cream tasted bad after sitting on the table for an hour. Badly is an adverb The stock market has done badly during this quarter. I debate badly in public.

Bad Versus Badly Practice Circle the correct word in the following sentences and identify which word bad/badly is modifying. Then diagram all three sentences. They speak (bad, badly) about it.
