Extended Assignment Larger Watercolor Size: Minimum 11 in. by 14 in. (You do have the option to work bigger – see me ) Choice of Subject: Animal Architecture Portrait Critique Date: April 12, 2016

Requirements Interesting Composition – you should have several thumbnail sketches in your sketchbook exploring the layout of your page Use what you know! – you have been exposed to many painting techniques, I encourage you to use them to your advantage and to help you create interest and variety in your piece. You may work from a picture IF it is your own image! If you want to do a subject that you do not have access to (ie. Zebra) you may use a series of reference photos to make your own composition, but you may not copy them directly! Be thoughtful about color choices: You do not need to use true to life color. You should mix your own colors as much as possible.
