75 million people Pictures: The winning countries blamed Germany for the war (was that fair?) and wanted to make it suffer - so they made them pay for ALL war losses - understandably, the German people were not happy….. This is one of the reasons that Adolf Hitler was able to come to power in 1933. How could this have been stopped? That’s why we remember those who died in these and all other battles on Remembrance Sunday - it’s important It wasn’t over, however. Following the war, the world divided itself, broadly, into two bodies again. Other countries were ganging-up again, too. One led by the USA, the other by the USSR. WW3 was very likely……...

How might WW1 and WW2 been prevented? MUTUAL RESPECT Pictures: The key to stopping WW3 was reflecting on what could have stopped WW1 and WW2 - what do you think could have stopped WW1 and WW2? This time, however, the leaders of the USA (Ronald Reagan) and the USSR (Mikhail Gorbachev), with big teams from their countries, sat down and talked - this guaranteed peace (but not forever) This and many other peaceful resolutions to conflict shows that talking to others, giving them respect and, consequently, them giving you respect (mutual respect) is always the best way to prevent conflict. Understanding, respecting and even just talking to people with different beliefs or views to you is the BEST way to understand the complex world we live in and to keeping it peaceful
