The structure of Gosatomnadzor Radiation

Radiation sources Now there are about 24500 ionizing radiation sources  All sources registered in Gosatomnadzor in the Comprehensive State System of Accounting For and Control of Ionizing Radiation Sources. Ionizing radiation sources are used mostly on medicine and in industry About 50% of sources are allocated in Minsk-city and Minsk region

Pending Issues Currently Gosatomnadzor faces the following pending issues: Improvement of the legislation and regulation basis in the field of radiation safety in Belarus; Implementation the system of knowledge accumulation in the field of radiation safety; Developing Human resources and training system; Involve Belarus to the Establishment of the International Regulatory Network; Management of oversight. These needs define Belarusian interest to the following activities under RER/9/096: Trainings or educational seminars (inspectors, lawyers, administrative personnel); Workshops and scientific meetings for sharing experience of other countries in field of radioactive source management and quality control.
