Vocabulary Radiation – the direct transfer of energy by electromagnetic waves. Solar Radiation – is energy from the Sun. Sun – major source of energy on Earth. Earth’s Atmosphere – absorb and reflect the Sun’s radiant energy. Absorbed Energy – heats the planet. Solar Wind – Charged particles which leave the Sun. Electrons (-) and Protons (+) Magnetosphere – Magnetic force lines which deflect the Solar wind.
